This course provides students with fundamental knowledge about central issues in contemporary Korean society.
The course focuses on Korea post-Cold War, covering topics such as popular culture, gender, and demographic issues. The course also includes Korean politics, addressing domestic politics in both North and South Korea, as well as inter-Korean relations. Finally, the course explores Korea's growing presence in the regional and international arena.

Eligibility:
To be admitted to the course, students must meet the general entry requirements and have completed at least 30 credits at first or second cycle level.
Oral and written language proficiency in English equivalent to English 6 from Swedish upper secondary school is a requirement. International qualifications will be assessed in accordance with national guidelines. A general exemption from the requirement of proficiency in Swedish is applied.
