HT-samtal #59 – Elias Bongmba

Publiceringsdatum: 16 juni 2018 Om avsnittet: In 2018, the Faculty of Theology at Lund University appointed two honorary doctors: Professor Elias Bongmba and Robert D. Resnick. On May 24, they both visited the Faculty and held open lectures.
Professor Elias Kifon Bongmba is a theology, religious studies and African studies scholar who works at Rice University in Houston, Texas. His research and teaching covers broad areas and combines theology, religious studies, philosophy and ethnology. His books include philosophical, theological and social analysis of African witchcraft, and discuss public theology as well as the HIVAIDS pandemic in Africa. He is currently working on an extensive introduction to the three major groups of religious tradition in Africa: traditional African religions, Islam and Christianity. Professor Elias Bongmba's lecture, recorded at LUX on May 24, 2018, is called "Eschatology and Otherness: Imagining and Anticipating the Future in Africa".
