The course examines various types of representations of violence in the visual arts and media, for example, paintings, sculptures, photography, television programmes, computer games, medical illustrations, documentaries, feature films and music videos. The representation and experience of violence are analysed and interpreted from historical, psychological, philosophical and intermedia perspectives, as well as in historical and current social contexts.
