The course provides students with a general overview of the development of Greek from Classical Antiquity to the early Byzantine period with regard to changes in sound system, grammar and text structures. Furthermore, the course deals with changes in Greek vocabulary and their background in historical events and periods. Major emphasis is placed on the sociolinguistic implications of the polyglossia situation.
The course is online late afternoons during the whole term. The course is in English.
