The course consists of an internship aimed to prepare the student for a future working life. The students will have the opportunity to relate their academic skills to professional assignments and establish contacts in working life. The internship is located at a workplace in Sweden or abroad with a clear connection to the main field of Asian Studies.
The training period shall consist of at least 16 weeks of full-time work. Supported by supervision in the host organisation, the student is to work with qualified and varying assignments. The assignments are to have a connection with the completed programme in Asian Studies and the students are to have the opportunity to use and develop their knowledge and skills in Asian Studies.
Throughout the course, the student is to keep a portfolio of completed assignments which will serve as one of the assessed components. Furthermore, the student is to write a paper reflecting on the relationship between theory and practice. Both assignments will enable students to develop an understanding of the relationship between academic knowledge and practical application. The assignments require at least 4 weeks of full-time work.
The work placement must be approved by the course director. In order for the work placement to be approved, the host organisation must sign an agreement in accordance with the department's demands on relevant, varied and qualified assignments in Asian Studies.

Eligibility:
Master's degree in humanities or social sciences, 120 credits, or equivalent, and English equivalent to English 6/B from Swedish upper secondary school.
